The Bertha Gxowa Foundation (BGF) has been shaped by the vision and values of Mama Bertha Gxowa and the committed leadership of the trustees drawn from the government, business sectors and civil society.
- BGF implements projects and initiatives directed at women’s rights, gender equality and the empowerment of women, with particular focus on the rights of women and the girl-child.
- BGF considers research and knowledge-based resources to be of vital importance in grounding initiatives aimed at transforming society and achieving gender equality and women empowerment.
- BGF acts in partnership with relevant academic and reserach institutions, the private, public and civil society sectors at national, continental and global level.

OUR PROJECTS
The Bertha Gxowa Foundation is committed to reducing the rate of poverty in the communities by facilitating an enabling working environment for women.
These projects were selected by BGF based on the evidence of business interest by project members and a commitment to the project. As a Foundation, we belive in committing to developing our existing portfolio of projects which will impact the quality of life of our beneficiaries in a positive manner.
BGF is dedicated to not only identifying viable projects, but ensuring through technical training, on-site capacity building and financial support the development of Black Women start-up enterprises.
For management to be able to support these projects Capital Expenditure and Administration Costs have been outlined in our budget.
