Women economic empowerment community project for the elderly | Katlehong
Kwaze Kwasa is a community-based initiative with the sole purpose of economically empowering elderly women. Kwaze Kwasa provides home-based care services for sick people; bathe them and ensure that they adhere to their treatment regimens and provide support to their vulnerable family members. Further, distributes food parcels and runs a support group for people living with AIDS, youth and teenage pregnancy. HIV awareness workshops are hosted periodically.
As a Non Profit which was registered in 1999. Over the years, the creche has received support from the bertha Gxowa foundation. At the moment teachers have identified a need for training, to be able to become a feeding school for Katlehong primary. In order to achieve this medium term goal, the Early childhood development center (ECD) has to ensure it is also a profit making enterprise and the moment it is not.
