VuseliThemba (Well of Redeemed)
Income generation stream for the Elderly | Sali Section, Katlehong
Well of Redeemed was established in order to give elderly women an income generation stream to support themselves and their families. Located in Sali Section Katlehong, the project currently has 15 members who meet every Wednesday from 10a.m to make various wares to be sold in the community. They began with no space to work from but successfully managed to build a garage to work from.
The project members meet weekly to make shoes, crochet (jerseys and hats), to make floral arrangements and beadwork.
Training on beadwork is a need in 2019-2020, purchase of additional materials and rehabilitation of their current work structure.
